Core Business

Storsack UK Ltd commenced its sales activities in the UK in 1991 and is now headquartered in Thirsk, North Yorkshire. Following the acquisition of the manufacturing Company, Dorton Packaging Ltd, at the end of 2004, Storsack UK Ltd has successfully integrated the two businesses to establish itself as the market leader in the supplies of FIBC’s in all the main market sectors of the UK: Agriculture (fertiliser, seed and animal feeds), construction and aggregates, and general 4 loop industrial. The business currently employs 80 people.

In total the Company sells 10 million FIBC’s (of all types) out of which 3 million bags are still produced in the UK manufacturing facility. Significant on-going investment ensures this production base remains one of the most efficient in the Storsack Group; perfectly complimenting the trading side of the operation.

Over the past decade, the Company has very successfully re-focused its activities on marketing and distribution, placing a high emphasis on customer service and efficient logistics through optimising its supply chain management. Product is sourced mainly from the Group’s Eastern European and Far East production companies and also approved strategic alliance partners.

The 90,000 sq ft warehouse in Thirsk, with a capacity to store over 500,000 bags, holds designated stocks for many key customers and enables short notice call offs to be effected.

Maximum effort is put into customer service. Each customer has a dedicated internal member of sales staff, as well as external field representative, to look after them and ensure that whatever the requirement is, it is answered and followed up quickly and efficiently.

The Storsack UK team continue an impressive record in technical innovation; working with customers to reduce cost and improve and rationalise their packaging specifications. In particular, the Company has been at the forefront of developments in packaging suitable for automated filling processes and in the liquid packaging field.  A number of patents are held.
