Storsack Holding GmbH, located in Viernheim, 70 km from Frankfurt am Main, in a well-comunicated region, in the heart of Europe, was founded in 2003 when Storsack International  GmbH acquired the Eurea Group and Mulox USA. Storsack Holding was created to manage all the sales activities of the Storsackgroup as well as the financial, marketing and coordination activities within the Group.  

Storsack International GmbH  was founded in 1970, under the name of International Polysacks GmbH (IPS), as a private partnership comprising Thomas Noor as major partner with associates in many countries.

Storsack International GmbH experienced a very fast growth: acquired Haberl GmbH "Austria" in 1993, the Eurea Group in Decembre 2002 and finally Mulox USA in March 2003.  Nowadays, it continues developing successfully its activities selling 4 - and 1 Loop FIBCs and small sacs, mainly in Germany, France and Italy. There is also a Global account Management team working to connect and exchange today's customers demands for a worldwide acting partner with local and personal around the world.

Core Business

The origin of eurea was in 1959 and based on a company of spinners and weavers of jute, which itself was formed in 1888. Today, eurea sells different types of packaging, standard or customized.

The development of eurea was positively influenced by the setting up of a department in 1976, which deals exclusively with packaging for fruit, vegetables and potatoes and the start of development and production of FIBCLs (flexible intermediate bulk containers) in 1982. They are known as ECOTAINERLs all over the world. The importance of this packaging form has therefore grown proportionately, so the FIBCLs play an important role in all parts of the company.

eurea manufactured according to the latest technological development, the employees are product specialists and it has it's own certified test center, where all important aspects of the safety of a product are examined in the closest detail. The eurea customers can always be sure that a product from eurea will meet the strictest technical requirements.

eco technology GmbH was founded in 2001 and gained very fast a leading position in the european research and development landscape. The company, member of Storsackgroup, coordinates the R&D activities within the group and consists on 4 people working fulltime and financially supported by the Group in conjunction with the EC Research Programme.

It develops its activities in a Test Station equiped with all modern testing facilities in order to carry out the most relevant tests on FIBC and other packaging, according to the international standards. The Test Station is also authorized to carry out design type test in accordance with Dangerous Good Regulations (UN, ADR, RID, IMDG-Code) by German (BAM) and Austrian (OFI) Competent Authorities.

The company has two principle lines of work: assisting the Group Production Plants in order to increase the efficiency in the production process and supporting the worldwide Sales Offices in order to develop tailored solutions for our customers. As a result, we are holding more than 40 Patents that underline indeed the high efficiency of eco technology GmbH.

The cooperation with universities and research centres like the Fraunhofer Institute makes possible to be at the forefront of developing products that perform effectively. We proudly present some of our developments out of this cooperation:

• BOPP-BI Orientated PP Film enables custumers to have photographic quality, giving superior image and marketing capabilitiesFlexible (Smart) Drum for liquids

• ECOSTAT, superior technology to create conductive Fabrics using for Type D bags

• Smart and intelligent FIBC that incorporates RFIDT, so called Transponder, this small chip can provide all relevant information required in the supply chain

Storsackgroup has named Amir Samadijavan as director of eco technology, as the center of excellence of the group.  He is a graduate of Vienna Technical University with a Phd in chemical engineering. He has previously worked for the Austrial Gas and Oil Company OMV and more than 10 Years as head of packaging division of Austrian Research Institute (OFI).
