Smart Drum

Finally a cost-effective alternative to the standard drum.
Introducing SmartDrum from IPS/Storsack, the best solution yet for economical transportation, handling and storage of flowable materials.  SmartDrum combines the toughness and durability of conventional drums with the spacesaving convenience and handling ease of a collapsible container. It’s designed specifically for liquids or flowable solids and  comes in a range of sizes. It won’t bulge, balloon or lose its shape and has a Safe Working Load of 300 kg with a 6:1 safety factor.

Weigh up the costs savings
You can fit up to 80 full SmartDrums in an ISO container, 10 pallets of four stacked two high. These 80 empty drums can be collapsed with liner in place, stacked flat and strapped down on about two pallets and returned for use again. The inexpensive bag liners can be disposed of after use, saving more time and money on sterilising and handling. 

Built to last
Supervised drop tests prove the SmartDrum can take the knocks. The unique encapsulated stiffeners, UV stabilised materials and heavy duty manufacture mean these drums can be handled just as roughly as conventional drums – all the time protecting the separate bag liner inside during transit.
The smaller drums can be stacked four high with four to a pallet and have an extra protective tie-up topliner. The larger drums can be stacked two high. The drums are currently suitable for non-hazardous goods and will soon be suitable for hazardous material with approved UN certificates.
